Say No to Government Insurance

Content Image

Health care costs are spiraling out of control, and tens of millions of Americans can't afford health insurance. President Obama and the Democrats believe the solution to these problems is a new government insurance program that will compete with the private sector. This is a course that threatens free markets. It is wrong for America.

Reform of our health care system can be accomplished by strengthening the private insurance system, as we did in Massachusetts when I was Governor. Strip away burdensome regulations to get the cost of insurance policies down. Take some of the taxpayer money we're now spending on free care and use it to help buy insurance for the needy.

But the last thing Congress and the President should do is create another big government program. The most important lesson from the Massachusetts health care reform is that you don't need a new "public option" to get insurance to more people.

Will you join me in fighting for sensible health care reform and against President Obama's plans for a new government insurance program? Your most generous contribution to my Free and Strong America PAC will give us the resources we need to make our voice heard on this and other critical issues facing our nation.

We have a lot of work to do over the coming year, and I hope I'll have you standing by my side. But with it being summertime, I hope you don't forget to take some time to have some fun too. To help, as a special thank you for your continued support, we're happy to offer the following official PAC summer gear:

   - For a contribution of at least $25, we'll send you a flying disc with the PAC's logo on it.

   - For a contribution of $60, we'll send you the flying disc and a PAC tote bag.

   - And, for a contribution of $100, we'll send you the flying disc, tote bag, and a PAC beach towel.

Thank you again for your continued support and dedication.

Dear Sir, It seems to me that the Republican party is in an advantageous position , with Obama's & Pelosi's approval ratings falling, & a loss of trust in this administration evidenced by anti-health reform sentiment. This position must not be squandered. The guys on Fox are doing their best but your voice is seldom heard & sorely needed; after all, you have Charles Krauthammer in your corner.

A government has many different roles, but it is also a business. A government that doesnt know how to balance a budget will end up destroying all that it is supposed to protect. Mitt Romney knows both what the government should do and how to keep it within the scope of the resources available. I hope I have the chance to vote for Mitt in 2012!

All I can say is Governor Romney is the only politician that makes sense on any of these topics, especially this one. We need him in the White House in order to push his ideas through and get this country on the right track again!

I am a doctor in a little private practice trying to give good, old fashioned time consuming care to my patients. I don't worry about seeing a lot of patients or making a lot of money, just about offering good care. However, my overhead due to Malpractice Insurance is outlandish! Even though I have never been sued. If lawyers simply could not sue us so incredibly much for being human and making mistakes and for not being able to cure everyone, the change in cost for us all would be beyond dramatic. Richard above also has it so right! We could all order fewer tests -- giving saving our patients a hassle and lowering costs tremendously.

By the way, I sure hope you run for president in 2012. I supported you last time. And, I will again. I am libertarian at heart, but your amazingly good economic sense would be the foundation we so need for that freedom I cherish.

Thank you for all you have done for our country and for all you will do.

Recently I read an article that stated, "Wait until you see how much free healthcare will cost." I work in healthcare, and President Obama's plan scares me greatly. We must band together to get this healthcare bill stopped. Once this passes, you will have to move heaven and earth to correct it. I have followed Mitt's career since he was Governor of my state, and I believe he is the one to lead us out of this mess.

The secret to bringing down health care costs begins with the reduction of unnecessary testing. To do this we must have tort reform. With tort reform the companies who insure doctors and hospitals can lower their rates. The insurance rates will go down, the testing will be only that which is needed, and the overall costs will decrease. We must quit taking care of the illegals and send them to where they came from and let that country take care of them. Build the fence and enforce the immigration laws and that will generate a savings in health care that will keep the government out of our lives.

PLEASE, Mitt, do everything you can to stop this health care bill in Congress. The August deadline, which rushes the decision, is an incredibly huge mistake. I live in New York City and tax bills will hover close to 60% if this bill passes. There will be an exodus from the city unlike anything we have ever seen. There will be no turning back and our children will be the ones who will suffer the most. I am a teacher, a parent and an American who believes that enough is enough. Please let us know what we can do to gather our forces so that reasonable thinking will prevail. Thank you.

Governor Mitt Romney's approach to universal health care makes so much more sense than the current Obama plan. It's proven and is based on sound economic principles, unlike the socialistic "public option" approach that requires mandates and increased taxation...the worst possible way to go during a recession with high unemployment. President Obama believes that insurance companies have caused the high cost of health care, because he believes that businesses are greedy and focused on profit only. Governor Romney, as both a successful businessman and governor, knows differently.

President Obama has committed to rushing the passage of his health care bill, because he knows that if Americans realize how terrible the bill really is, they'll be against it. I hope that Governor Romney is able to get his powerful message out to the American public, during this critical time in U.S. history, when we seem to be headed toward socialism. Thank you, Governor Romney, you're a great American!
