Our Candidates
Kay Ivey
Kay Ivey is Alabama’s two-term State Treasurer and is running for Governor of Alabama. Kay Ivey was born and raised in Alabama. She is actively involved in many of Alabama’s civic organizations including a member of every Alabama Federation of Republican Women chapter in Alabama and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Kay attended Auburn University and taught high school English. From there she became a hospital administrator and Assistant director of the Alabama Development Office and worked for the Alabama Commission on Higher Education.
In 2002, Kay made history by becoming the first Republican elected State Treasurer since Reconstruction. She followed that up in 2006 by being re-elected with more than 60% of the vote statewide.
